A New Year

Happy 2012 guys!

I gotta say, I am kind of looking forward to this year. I have some pretty reasonable resolutions and I’ve been remembering to take my pill (antidepressants that I forget to take all the time) so I’ve been in a better mood.

My new year resolutions are:

1.) go back to therapy

I’ve gone to therapy in the past, but I never really wanted to change. They say you have to be open to change or it won’t work. Well, I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I just need to find a good therapist. I’ve already been to three different ones. This is a small town, I doubt there are many more. I might just try to find one after I move away. All I know is that in the past I always had trouble being completely honest; and having this blog has helped me get better at finding the words to describe how I’m feeling. I think it’ll be a lot better this time.

2.) be vegetarian (or vegan) again

I’ve been a vegetarian in the past but kind of gave up the past couple of months. and I’ve always wanted to go vegan.

3.) get a job

I’ve already been working on this for like six months.

4.) eat healthy

This kind of goes hand in hand with the vegetarian thing. Even when I didn’t eat meat before, I would eat mostly junk food. I want to find recipes for meals with more vegetables and fruits.

5.) watch less TV

We all know I have a television problem. I’ve decided I’m going to continue to watch the shows I watch now, new episodes and such. But I’m no longer going to sit in my room and watch TV for hours on end. I finished the final episode of Las Vegas yesterday, so I have a clean slate.

6.) learn to cook

My mom has been on my back about learning to cook for years. And if I’m going to be a healthy eating vegan, I’m not going to be able to just grab chips or microwave dinners anymore.

7.) read more books

Books are like watching television with more imagination.

8.) be more responsible in general

Remembering to do my chores, my homework, save my money, etc.

9.) stop cutting

Self-explanatory

10.) get some pet fish

I found an aquarium in our garage. I want to have lots of fish and name them all after the different books of the bible. I’m not religious, but I would just love to have fish named Genesis and Exodus and Deuteronomy and so on.

I realize this is a lot of resolutions. But I really want to change my life. I don’t like the way I live it right now.
